Deer Hunting in South Dakota with Whetstone Creek Outfitters. Deer hunting is a dream come true in this area of central South Dakota.  We have several record bucks taken each year on our privately owned land. You have more than 5,000 acres of open South Dakota hunting land and 1200 acres of Nebraska hunting land at your disposal when you hunt with Whetstone Creek Outfitters.  Some of our hunters have scored 150 or more Boone and Crockett points with the Trophy Bucks they have taken out of our area.

We have maintained a success rate of 75% on our archery deer hunting trips and 90% on our rifle deer hunting trips.  Most of our hunters are repeat customers - which says a lot about our operation.

The mule deer hunting is done along the beautiful Missouri River and is considered some of the best in South Dakota.  The largest Mule Deer Buck ever taken with Whetstone Creek Outfitters is a 187 B&C points, with averages in the 160 B&C range.

This hunting is a lottery drawing, so please contact us and we will help you with your applications.  Lotteries are only done once a year for rifle hunting, so do not hesitate to call us.  However, bow hunting is unlimited in South Dakota. If you like to test your skill, we have a Trophy Buck waiting for you to take.  We also have hunting available on tribal ground with a bow, rifle, or muzzleloader.

New Hunt for 2008

We will be conducting a Archery Hunting only trip on one of our ranches to get our hunters in front of some quality deer. Our goal is to get you a prime hunting location where there is not as much activity and the deer movement won't be as spooked since we will not be rifle hunting on this location.
